Privacy Policy
Last updated: [date it goes live]
MUM180 is run by [Legal name] [ABN], based in Western Australia, Australia ("we", "us"). This page explains, in plain English, what personal information we collect through mum180.com, why we collect it, who helps us look after it, and how you can get in touch.
We follow the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
The short version
- If you take the free self-check, we collect your first name and email so we can send you your result and a few emails from Alex.
- If you buy MUM180, Stripe processes your payment. We never see or store your full card number.
- We use MailerLite to send emails and Stripe to take payments.
- You can unsubscribe any time, and you can ask us to see, fix or delete your information by emailing hello@mum180.com.
- We never sell your information.
What we collect
1. When you take the free self-check (the "Guilty & Selfish loop" check)
- Your first name
- Your email address
- Your self-check score and result band (for example, "Caught in the Loop"), so the emails you get match your result
- Basic email activity, such as whether an email was opened or a link was clicked
2. When you buy MUM180
Payment is handled by Stripe on a secure Stripe page. From Stripe we receive:
- Your name and email address
- What you bought, the amount, the date, and whether payment went through
- Limited card details such as card type, the last four digits and the billing country
We do not receive or store your full card number or security code.
We then send your course access code to the email you gave at checkout.
3. When you email us
- Your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you choose to write to us.
4. When you visit the website
- We use Google Analytics to understand how people use the site in general (for example, which pages are visited and roughly where visitors are from). This uses cookies and collects technical information such as your device type, browser and an approximate location based on your IP address. We use it in summary form only.
- The course login and portal save your access session and your module progress in your own browser (local storage), so you don't have to log in every time and your notes and progress stay put. This stays on your device. Clearing your browser data removes it.
Your answers to the 10 self-check statements: [CONFIRM ONCE THE LOOP-CHECK PAGE IS BUILT: either "stay in your browser and are not sent to us; only your total score and band are sent" OR "are stored with your email so we can personalise emails". Our recommendation is the first option.]
We don't ask for, and you don't need to give us, sensitive information such as health details. The self-check is a reflection tool, not a health assessment.
Why we collect it
- To send you your self-check result and free PDF
- To send you a short series of emails about the Guilty & Selfish loop and the MUM180 programme
- To process your purchase, give you access to the course, and send receipts
- To answer your questions and help with access problems
- To keep business and tax records, as Australian law requires
- To improve the website and the programme
We will only send you marketing emails if you have signed up (for example, by taking the self-check) or bought from us. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and we act on it straight away. When you buy MUM180, we take you out of the free self-check email series automatically.
Who helps us (our service providers)
We use a small number of trusted services to run MUM180. They handle your information on our behalf and only for the purposes above:
| Service | What it does | What it handles |
|---|---|---|
| MailerLite | Sends our emails and manages the subscriber list | Name, email, self-check score and band, email activity |
| Stripe | Takes payments securely | Name, email, payment details, purchase record |
| Google Analytics | Website statistics | Technical and usage information |
| GitHub Pages | Hosts the website | Standard technical logs such as IP address |
| [Email provider for hello@mum180.com] | Our support inbox | Emails you send us |
Some of these providers store information outside Australia, including in the United States and the European Union. We choose well-known providers with strong security and privacy commitments, but by using the site you understand your information may be handled overseas.
We never sell, rent or trade your personal information. We will only share it beyond these providers if the law requires us to.
Advertising
We don't currently use advertising tracking (such as the Meta Pixel) on mum180.com. If we start, we will update this page first and explain what it does and how to opt out.
How long we keep it
- Self-check subscribers: while you're subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we keep only your email on a "do not contact" list so we never email you again by mistake. You can ask us to delete it completely.
- Purchase records: at least 5 years, because Australian tax law requires us to keep business records.
- Support emails: as long as needed to help you, and then for a reasonable time in case you get in touch again (no more than 2 years unless there's a reason to keep it longer).
- Website statistics: kept in Google Analytics according to its retention settings, in summary form.
Keeping it safe
We use reputable providers, strong passwords and two-step login on our accounts, and we limit who can access your information. No system is perfectly secure, but if something ever went wrong in a way that could seriously harm you, we would tell you and do what the law requires.
Your choices and rights
You can:
- Unsubscribe from emails any time, using the link at the bottom of every email
- Ask what information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct anything that's wrong
- Ask us to delete your information (except purchase records we must keep by law)
Just email hello@mum180.com. We'll reply within 30 days, usually much sooner.
